Facsimile of a the first book on herbs printed in Vicenza in 1491. This incunabulum contains 150 hand colored woodblocks (only 4 are existing) is printed on special paper and bound in printed soft cover as the original.
6x71⁄1"(15,2 x 19,2 cm).
The edition is enriched by an important commentary volume which is the fruit of a long research. There will be the translation into Italian, by Stefania Rossi Minutelli (Biblioteca Marciana, Venice).
an updated description by Patrizio Giulini (prof. in Botany at Padova) of the characteristics of the herbs and an interesting essay by the pharmacologist Elsa Cappelletti. At the end there will be a very useful glossary specialists and researchers. 81⁄4 x 115⁄8" (21 x 29,5 cm).
The two books are contained in a clamshell box with foil stamping and an image embossed on front 9 x 121⁄2"
(23 x 32 cm).
